Afterbloom

Terms of use

Effective October 6, 2026

These are the terms for using the Afterbloom app. Plain language on purpose; the plain reading is the intended one.

Who can use it

You must be 18 or older. You may only bring conversations you took part in yourself.

What Afterbloom is, and isn't

Afterbloom finds patterns in your text messages and offers a 90-day program for getting over a breakup. It is not therapy, medical care, or a clinical assessment, and nothing in it is a diagnosis of you or anyone else. It will never advise you to reconcile or to contact your ex. If you are in crisis in the US, call or text 988; more lines are on our crisis resources page.

Your texts

How we handle them is in the privacy policy, and that policy is part of these terms. In one line: we never keep your texts.

Paying

Purchases are made through Apple and are subject to Apple's terms. The weekly plan is charged every week until you cancel it in your Apple subscription settings; the program ends on day 90, and on that day Afterbloom shows you where to cancel, but only your tap stops the charge. One-time purchases don't renew. Refunds are handled by Apple through reportaproblem.apple.com; we never contest a refund request.

Accuracy

Text recognition and analysis can be wrong. Cards show what the texts support and say so when the evidence is thin. Don't make decisions about another person on the basis of an Afterbloom card alone.

The demo deck

The example chat you can try in the app is fiction. The messages, the dates and the people in it were made up for the demo. Nothing in it belongs to a real person, and it is labelled as a demo wherever it appears.

Cards you share

A card you export is yours. You make the image on your phone and send it yourself; we don't post anything for you and we claim no rights over what you share. Cards render no real names, phone numbers, handles or photos, and some cards are never shareable at all. Don't use a card to harass, threaten or expose anyone — that is a use of Afterbloom we don't allow, and it is a use these terms don't cover.

Your account and content

There is no account, no email and no password. Your data lives on your phone. Forget my data — on the unlock screen before you buy, in Settings after, and again on day 90 — deletes your case file, your receipts and your 90 days from the phone; deleting the app does the same. What you paid for stays with your Apple Account, so it survives both and comes back with Restore purchases.

Liability

Afterbloom is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the app. Nothing here limits rights you have under consumer law where you live.

Changes

If these terms change materially, the app will tell you before the change applies to you.
